  1. I recently tried to extract the audio from an avi file w/ virtual dub. I followed the how to on this site step by step. When i went to save as a wav file i got an error: "the requested audio compression is not compatible with the input format. Check that the sampling rate channel count of th einput match those of the requested format." is this common?
    Would appreciate any help.

    Thanks in advance,

    Peace

    Search Comp PM
    Vdub
    Audio > full processing mode
    Audio > conversion > 44.1Khz
    SAVE WAV

    or
    Audio > direct stream copy
    SAVE WAV

Now convert this wave to uncompressed at 44.1Khz

Depending on what version of vdub and what codec's you have and what the audio is.
