TMPGEnc won't open my huffy encoded AVI. It only shows and outputs black. There isn't any error when it opens the file. I CAN open the file in Premiere, Virtualdub, and Window Media Player. The file was created by using VirtualDub to capture video at 720 x 480 using my AIW Radeon 8500. How can I get TMPGEnc to open my file? If you have any ideas please let me know! If you need more information information about anything in my set up, please ask. Thanks. I just want to convert my huge Huffy AVI into a tiny high quality mpg!

Hi, Don't know if this will help. Most problems with black movie displayed are the DirectShow plug-in. changing the priority level usually cures this.
Select options > environmental settings
click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4 -
Thanks! Everything is working perfectly and I am able to make great crisp clear VCD's.
