Capturing works great with my new computer:
But when using NERO (5590) to write as VCD/SVCD
the audio is not synchronized with the image anymore.
(it is as MPEG on my CMP)
So i think the decoding is going wrong.
NERO gives me the following message when im converting:
"Stream encoding which is invalid for (super) video CD"
I did do exactly (pal) 352 * 288, 44.1Khz Audio/stereo/224kbits
Mpeg 1 (for VCD)
I can let NERO re-encode the mpeg but then i need to purchase a codec from them first. Before i do that i want to check the boards.
I must have done something wrong:
I hope someone can help me out!
Thanx in advance

Be sure to use a MPEG-I file in NERO's VCD mode and a MPEG II file in NERO's SVCD mode !
VCD and SVCD also use different resolutions...the one you mentioned seems to be a MPEG-I VCD file...MPEG I reencoding is included in NERO..MPEG II encoding isn't and must be purchased seperately.
When you captures in MPEG I and nero complains the created MPEG is not compliant to the VCD standard. That may have to do with the BITRATE selected during capturing.
You could try capturing to AVI (HUFFYUV or DV CODEC), encode using SVCD template in TMPGenc and burn with NERO in S !!! S!!! SVCD mode.
This would also improve quality of the end result.
PCM audio is rather big...you could use MPEG I LAYER II audio to make it smaller... again with TMPGenc...
read some guides to see how.

I capture the MPEGs according the 'standards'
MPEG1 for VCD MPEG2 for SVCD:
WinCODER has several templates to chose from.
The captured MPEGS are of great quality, everyting is synchronized.
But when burning it as VCD with NERO the Sound goes Async.
I bought the NERO recoder codec , but the only thing it does is turning
the VCD into a very bad quality one.
How can it be that when i confirm myself to the standard VCD:
(Size: 352x288, 25 fps, Video/audio MPEG1 (224 bit rate audio))
Nero still says its not standard? and wants to reconvert a perfect MPEG?
Can i fix this by using TMPenc after i captured the file before burning? -
hmmm...
this can only be if it;s not compliant...nero should also tell you what is not compliant about the mpeg..maybe the audio 48 Khz (DVD) 44.1 Khz. (VCD). If not...turn of MPEG compliance and let nero burn without reencoding, but normaly NERO cannot complain about a compliant MPEG.
It might also be that your video bitrate is too high..this may let NERO complain. Could also explain the bad quality. Check for max video bitrate when capturing in MPEG...keep it within range to keep NERO from complaining.

Are you sure it is encoding to (S)VCD PAL as wincoder will not alter the frame rate to 25fps. It encodes at 29.9fps which would result in a non compliant mpeg. To change the frame rate it encodes to you have to go to the registry settings and alter the framerate setting

Is your video bitrate 1150 kbps and constant ?
Is NERO set to PAL and not NTSC ?
I've personally experienced this problem myself and it was caused by a crappy MPEG-plugin (not a Nero plugin, but for my encoder).
