Remember to tell the gurus what instructions you used to split your video. If you do not feel like waiting you can try this:
Using Virtual Dub, find out exactly where in original file you split it, down to the fraction of second. Load Gold Wave into your computer, Load the original video file into Gold Wave.
Select Edit-->Marker-->Set. In the Start Marker box, input the start time of your second video file, down to the fraction of the second. In the Finish Marker box, input the end time, down to the fraction of the second, of course. This highlights which part of the video file's audio you will be using.
Select Edit-->Copy. Now select File-->New, and click the OK box. When the second box appears, select Edit-->Mix, when the next box appears, select OK. Save As the name you wish for you second video's audio file. You just created the audio for your second file.
Now we proceed to multiplexing. Load TMPGEnc, and use the second video file as your input video, the file you saved in Gold Wave as your audio. Select Start.
The new file should contain all your video for it, and if it was in mono before, it is now in stereo 8) .
What do you think, gurus?Hello. -
Use the modified version of Virtualdub (Nandub). This will allow you to specify the size of cut in MB (Edit>Go to last keyframe...) Also, make sure you only cut at a keyframe, which is where you might have gone wrong before.
You can find Nandub in the download section at www.doom9.org in the DivX/MPEG-4 Encoders section. -

If you cut at delta frames there is a good chance that the start of part 2 will have a glitch, as the first few frames have no reference.
If the start is messed up, you could end up with problems like no audio.
When you are saving in vdub, the little window will pop up, this shows the amount of video frames and an estimate of the size, you can also see how much the audio is going to be, if while your saving, the audio is not moving, you know something is wrong, and can abort.
Cutting at Key frames in Vdub is very simple, first you move to the start of the movie and mark it as start, then you move to mid point of the movie, but before you mark this as end, just click the yellow icon back once, then mark it as end.
You now have a junk highlighted and can SAVE AVI using video and audio > direct stream copy.
Now go to the mid point again and click the yellow key frame back once, and mark as start, move to end and mark as end, SAVE AVI
As long as nobody else has made any edits, the end of the movie should finish at a key frame anyway.
Before you do any cut's, you should scan for junk frames
