Some files I ripped from a dvd were to big to put on a dvd so I ran them through tmp and procoder to lower the bitrate. I made sure the parameters were the same as the source video end encode. The output looked good on both except both were jerky on playback, no matter what I play it on. Any ideas?

Jerky video can sometimes be the result of the field order. Did you use the wizard in TMPGE? It will automatically determine the field order for you. Try encoding it again using the opposite field order, hope this helps.
