  1. So I just got the complete episodes of Young Indiana Jones on VHS, and I want to put them on DVD. I'm capturing with WINTV 2000 and a PVR250.

The mpeg2 I get from the program is great. Under windows it plays perfectly...audio is in sync, picutre is great, etc.

The problem comes when I try to cut out the commercials. For this I've been using MPEG2VCR. Although the problems occur pretty much the same in every editing program. The resulting, edited MPEG2 is out of sync. At first it seems fine, but it wlowly goes bad.

    Why?

    Here's my system

    P4 2.2ghz
    512 megs RAM
    WINTV PVR 250
    120 gig hard drive

I have all the latest beta drivers.....

Any suggestions? As far as I can see this whole thing isn't worth the effort......

    Rob

  2. Try using the newest version of the free Nanopeg editor for your edits. If that fails, you will need a TBC (time base converter), as tapes can be tough to record without losing sync on the edits.

  3. Download VCDgear from the TOOLS section and run your mpg2 file thru it to check for mpg errors. Then try editing.

Using a TBC (Time Base Corrector) is a good idea as it cleans up the video from your VCR before reaching your capture card saving your computer a lot of work. TBCs are not cheap. Hhowever they do a lot of neat things though---total macrovision removal for example.
