I wouldnt use ANY update or service pack if I had an illegal copy because if they had any brains now that this is getting out they should make it a part of say a security update or something to screw you into getting it without knowing about it right?

Wrong. When it comes to OS and other software if the ilegal copy used a valid serial number they have no proof that you didn't buy it. They could request the receipt, the authenticaded users manual or a number to verify the purchase.But that would imply costs that would kill the profit: someone would have to check the UsersManual/Receipt, or if the method of verification was through a number other than the serial ... lets be honest if someone fakes a serial number, generates a serial or even steales it...they can just as easily pull a authentication number from their hats.

To The 12 Yr old dude that says win-ME crashes every 5 mins?? Sorry if thats been your experience but I have it and I almost never crash BUT when I do I just hit restart and dont cry about it. Luckily I only lost work once but any App or system can concievably crash and so you just try to be careful about working right?

Right, but what about those days when u are downloading from an FTP, have kazaa or any other FS app sucking the life out of some poor guys bandwidth then you decide to start working on a term paper, fire up word, pump up winamp with a few mp3z start tiping and suddenly it all goes sky high ?

Com'on clone cd makes perfect 1:1 copies and sometimes goes to the extreme of copying the copy protection onto the new CD, Plus it has skins. Does it get any better than this ?
