  1. I've installed the huffyuv codec and when converting it does appear as a choice in the codecs window. However, when in the capturing mode it doesn't appear as a codec choice. Can someone please tell what I'm doing wrong.

    TIA

  3. I did install videopic mjpeg later and that appears in the capture list so why not huffy?

So should I stick with mjpeg if there's no great difference?

  4. MJPEG is little lossy...HUFFYUV isn't.

    so for editing...HUFF's the best...

HUFF sometimes does not install correctly...not sure why...just de-rebo-rein-rebo-try again.

  5. It happened to me before too. No matter what I did , install, deinstall codec, reboot the computer, still it wasn't there in the capture mode as one of the selections, but in the first screen like when opening vdub for the first time, it is there. What I did was I formatted my HD and reinstall Windows OS and reinstalled the codec and wallah, it's there as one of the choices in capture mode. Good luck.

  7. Make sure you select YUY2 in the video source menu. This should then show Huffyuv in the capture compression codec chioces.

  8. Thanks Terry that worked a treat (but it was the video format not source).

I shall try it tonight. Thanks again to all.

  9. Glad it worked for you.
The image format choice should appear in both source and format windows.
