  1. I've got a couple of dvd's that want to rip (to allow me to remove macrovision) to my PC to play back through my TV out to record onto VHS for a friend. The problem is both movies are foreign, and I want the original language with English subtitles. I've been able to rip and play the movies back, but can't get the subtitles. I've even ripped all the files on the dvd (selecting remove macrovision) and tried playing back in Media Player and Power DVDXP, but I can't get any subtitles.

What's the quickest and easiest way to just rip to a format that that will allow me to just play back (not worried about converting to media size formats) but with the subs?

    Thanks.....

Your DVD software player must support subs for any of this towork....most do..I know PowerDVD does....Rip entire DVD to hard drive then select play DVD file from hard drive....then right click on subtitle icon on PowerDVD control and enable and select sub you want....

Alternatily...I have the Radeon VE/7500 video card with TV out....I can watch straight from original DVD (in drive) over TV and record (to VCR)like that ...no ripping involved.

  4. I think it does; it's a Liteon 163D.

I did try ripping the whole dvd, but when I tried playing back it had the menues and the film would play, but when I selected the audio menu it didn't show any options.
