    Hi.
I had problem with a vcd, that is in 2 cds, and i wanted to reencode it with a lower bitrate to fit in one Cd, but, TMPGEnc doesnt recognize it!
i tried both, direct from the cd, and converting it mpg with a vcdeasy tool.
but vcdeasy also cannot read it! It plays well in my standalone dvd.
I think it was burned in windows 95, or something like that. the las modification date is xx/xx/1999
    so?
If it was burned in a old windows, how to reencode it in win2000??
    help!
    tks

    Hi,
    See my message-post in http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=107035

Don't use VCDgear. It's terrible (read it in the post : "why" and a "sollution").
As soon you've got your MPeG, you should use VDub to de-encode the mpeg to an AVI again (using whatever codec you prefer).
If the mpeg's were SVCD, it won't work in VDub. Then you should use FlaskMpeg (the app directly). FlaskMpeg can reconvert the MPeG (not the DAT) to an AVI (same like in VDub).

VDub is easy and faster but only for MPeG-1, while FlaskMpeg also supports MPeG-2

    cu.
