  1. Hi folks
I recently tried to convert an avi (from Vdub) to vcd using TMPEG. The avi is fine, but at the mpg the audio is out of sync. Also when I seperate it with Vdub and then remultiplex after encoding both.
What is the problem and what proggy can i use to vary the time at the multiplexprozess? I mean I have to add an offset of at least 0.8 seconds to the audio but this is impossible using TMPEG.

Thanks for ur help and have a nice weekend

  2. Do you mean that if you use the source to cut it in TMPGenc, that the only the second CD is out of Sync if its for 2 CDs

Did you try making wav audio from the avi?
And use it as audio file in Tempgenc. It helps sometime.
Other solution: In TEMPGEnc, open Setting/Advanced, Source range.
Double click on Source range. A' new window opens.
There you have Audio Gap Correct. Insert the delay you want. + or -
Start encoding a' few minutes. Stop and test your audio synk.

    Good Luck

  4. Thanks dazsafc
No, at Tmpeg I split the avi and the fist CD is out of sync and the second is in sync!? Donīt know why.

    To cramon:
Yes, I extracted the Wav from the avi, using VDub.
I havenīt found the audio gap funktion, but i look for it and give it a try.

I found out that this happens to all my wmvīs I reencoded.

    Thnks a lot

  5. The same thing happens to me, but the other way round ..Everytime I find that I have to save the sound to a wave file and load it into TMPGenc, CD1 works fine. CD2 Way out of sync after using the source settings. Nobody has gave me an answer or an explanation yet. I think you might just have to cut the AVI in half before yer start or cut the final MPEGS in half.

Meaning don`t have the scource settings starting or stopping in the middle of encoding. Just have them run right through.
. I`m not fully sure yet how you do this as I`m still an amatuer..I can join them though

I've never tried Suorce range to split a' movie.
Convert the whole movie in one step.
And then cut it afterwards. Using TEMPGEnc
    MPEG tools. It works perfect.

  7. Thanks
I tried again: the second disc is out of sync. Every time! So i have to use seperate audiogaps at the two discs. that works too. But the next time I will try to encode in one step and then sepertate. And cramon u say that there will be no sync problems? Iīll give it a try

  8. The only problem is that the first cd also has an syncproblem. So the hole movie has a problem. And how do I find out how huge the gap is? Not every film has a silent passage and then an tremendous soudeffect to an significant picturechange. Are there any proggies to figure out?
