    Hello everyone,

    As a newbie I was wondering. If I bought a standalone dvd-player, how SURE can I be that it would play my VideoCD2.0 compliant cd's?

    Bring a disk with you and tell them to test it right there.

    Yes, I would use 3 rules:

    1) Look on this site for VCD compatible players
    2) Read manufacturers info to see if they officially support VCD or SVCD
    3) Try it in the store. That's how I saw the Apex PD-100 was a dog.
