  1. Hey,

Ok, everytime I try to burn a VCD with some certain stuff on it, it keeps giving me this error message:

    "VCDxBuild.exe execution failed:
invalid mpeg packet found at packet #10 --please fix this mpeg file!"

I tried re-encoding what I had as #10, and that didn't work. I still got the same error mesage. Then i tried changing the order of the mpeg's and that also did not work. I still got the same error message. I have run out of ideas. Any suggestions??

  2. Packet #10 is not the same as item #10 in your list of mpg files.
Try running your mpg files thru VCDgear to fix mpg errors first. If it finds any, then try re-encoding. If it finds none, maybe something else is wrong.

If solution above fails, try eliminating files one by one in your compilation until it works. Then remove or re-encode the offending file. Time consuming I know!

  4. Hi,

This spring, I suddenly had a lot of these errors... Finally, after a lot of searching, I found I had a faulty memory module and it was causing a lot of strange errors in vcdeasy and tmpgenc. Maybe...

  5. hi,

VCDGear is a small software tool that can scan for simple errors
in a mpeg movie file and remove them as well as convert to and from
mpeg movie streams. See the tools section (left hand side at the bottom)
to download a free copy. Use this at a setting of MPEG > MPEG and
tick the "fix mpeg errors" check box.

If there is a serious fault in the mpeg, you are going to have to
use an editor (Ulead,Premier or Virtual dub) to fix the problem - which
requires a fair amount of time and a slight learning curve. I do not
like VCDgear myself so I always go the long route and employ an
editor but this often requires re-encoding the orginal mpeg as well
as a bit of fiddling around.

  6. OK, i dled it, but when I tried to fix the errors, it split the thing up into 4 parts. I dunno what to do. Is there a manual to use it somewhere??
