  1. Hi,
    I really don't know what I'm doing but. . .
I have a PAL CD-i that I'm trying to make into a VCD. I used the program isobuster to access the CD-i and make the file a .mpg file. I also used that program to make it a .dat file. Then I tried to use VCDEasy to make the VCD, but I get the following error message
"368x272 is not a valid resolution for "PAL" encoded sequence"
I also tried to use VCDGear v3.0, but after I tell it to add the track, enter in the new file name, and hit start, it tells me that it can not access the source file. This is under the VCD creation method, mpeg->cue/bin page. Does anyone have any ideas? I'm willing to start from scratch. Your help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks!!!

When you have the .mpg load it into TMPGEnc and load a VCD template, convert to a compliant VCD, PAL or NTSC

368x272 is not the correct size for VCD

    Video-CD PAL (MPEG-1 352x288 25fps CBR 1150kbps, Layer-2 44100Hz 224kbps)

  3. Thank you for the suggestion.

I downloaded the program you recommended. Then on the second page of the project wizard, when it asked me to load the video, it told me that the mpg file I have extracted was not recognized/supported. I made a second .mpg file using isobuster, and that one wasn't recognized/supported either. Also, strangely, the second .mpg file is a different size from the first. Seems fishy, shouldn't they have been the same size since I extracted the same file with the same program?

Any suggestions? Is there another program that will let you go directly from a CD-i to a VCD? Or maybe another program besides isobuster that can extract from a CD-i to a .mpg file? I'm thinking there is something wrong with the file that isobuster makes since it doesn't seem to be recognized by any of the VCD maker programs I've downloaded so far.

    Thanks for the help!

BTW, as a newbie, I don't know what "Do NOT ask for warez, give warez or link to warez" means, so I hope I'm not doing it. Sorry if I am.

    Hi

Well I don’t know what your looking at on the CDI disk, what is the file name you are attempting to convert ? Have you tried loading it directly into TMPGEnc ?, well perhaps copy to your hard drive first to speed things up. VcdGear can also help

Do NOT ask for warez, give warez or link to warez"
Have you got a month ?

The term "Warez" is used to describe something that could be considered illegal.
Not necessary a program, but asking for a serial number, is also considered a NO NO

If your worried about asking questions on conversion, then don’t be. Converting from one format to another, no matter what the source is, or where you got it from is just fine.

Take a look at the DVD ripping you think CDI conversion is bad ?
