    You might not have the flags set to seekable. Get ASFTools and fix it by setting the flags to seekable...

    but it will ask for a codec ( wmv1 ) I can't find it anywhere

    Install the Nimo codec pack
    If the new Vdub gives problems, use Vdub 1.3C
