  1. I have divx file i want to convert to mpeg and burn to dvd with my dvd writer. The problem i have is when i convert the file the audio is out of sync. I am new at this so i will try to tell you what i have tried to a T.
here is what i have done so far. i opened the video file in virtual dub and checked the file info it is 23.976 fps and resolution 576x304. sampling rate 48000. I don't know if this is needed but thought better more info than not enough. Then i follow the help guide and extract the wave file like the instructions say. then i open TMPGenc i click browse video and select the divx/avi file i want to use. then i click browse on audio source and choose the wav file i just made in virtualdub. Then i go into settings but i don't change anything unless i want to go from widescreen to fullscreen. last and i think this maybe here the problem is i go to load and a window opens and i choose from different mcf files. i have tried ntfc and ntfcfilm but with no joy i even tried the svcd and vcd ones to see if that would work but i got the same result audio out of sync. please help me i followed the help guides but something is wrong. i have dvd burner and a 2ghz cpu with 512megs of ram and windows xp. please any help is appreciated very much. thanks

  2. Does the sync problem get progressively worse or is it the same all the way through. I have converted dozens of divx to vcd with no problems, then I tried doing memento and whatever I tried the audio would be out of sync in the mpeg by about 1 sec (all the way through the movie). In the end I set an audio offset of -1000ms in tmpgenc and this worked.

Sounds like the audio is AC3 at 48Khz

You need to have that at 44.1Khz uncompressed, which will help in the sync problems.
Sometimes you need "Vdub AC3" for this work

    http://www.digital-digest.com/dvd/downloads/virtualdub.html

Sometimes just installing the Nimo codec pack with the correct audio codec's will help.

    Audio > direct stream copy
    Audio > Conversion > 44.1Khz
    SAVE WAV

If that is AC3, you need to save it using "Vdub AC3"

    Another way

    Audio > direct stream copy
    SAVE WAV

Rename WAV to AC3 and use headac3he to convert to WAV

If it’s a VBR MP3 codec, Nimo should fix the problem
