  1. after being unhappy with my rempeg results and not being to get TMPG to work, i've decided to use CCE to transcode my video files.

i'm looking at doom9's guides and was wondering which one i should use:

    getting the best of cce
    or
    IfoEdit and CCE guide
    or do i need both?

i'm simply trying to transcode the video of Black Hawk Down (i ripped the extras out, i took out the unnecessary audio/subtitle tracks, etc.)

basically, can i just use the File Mode of dvddecrypter and then make a dvd2avi file and then use CCE? or do i have to do the whole complicated procedure in the second guide? thanks!

  2. Use this one http://doom9.org/mpg/cce.htm it's the easiest to use.

If you have a full version of CCE, I would suggest using DVD2SVCD - I get great results with it, with a minimum of effort.

  4. gargoyle, do you have a link to a guide i could use with DVD2SVCD so that i know what i'm doing?

also, i tried the guide that PimpInDaHouse said to use and i was wondering if i have to do steps 3 and 4 (audio decoding and IVTC). i've never done anything with audio before, but is it necessary with CCE? and also, it says in the guide "IVTC (if necessary)". how do i know if mine is necessary? thanks again.

  5. You don't need to do step 3. Step 4 is if you are using NTSC but if you are using PAL or NTSC Film you don't need to do step 4. If you are using NTSC Film you will have to do a 3:2 Pulldown which you do with the program you can download there you just drag and drop in the program window and it starts for you.
