whats the best way to convert an asf movie to a mpeg movie?

Compress your asf to vcd with tmpgenc :

there ar two lines :

video : example.asf
audio : example.asf
target file : example.mpg

in the line of audio : delete everything

tmpegenc will compress your video in silence .

then use Windows media encoder SDK

-select de ASF and convert the audio of the video to wav

. use CD quality to preserve the shit of quality of the sound . hehe .

then compress this to layer II ,44100khz 224kbits

and multiplex , that's all.

you can convert the wav first and put this wav in the line of audio location , there's no problem with that .

in tmpgenc when i try to create a mpeg, even if im using an mpeg as the video source, it says it cannot be created, whats wrong?
