Burning To VCD

Need help creating a vcd. I have just finished doing a conversion with TMPGEnc from a *.avi file to the standard *.mpg file and now want to be able to make the file into a format playable by dvd players.

I have tried using the nero program to create a VCD, and it seems to burn everything ok, but when I go to insert the cd into a DVD player it won't acknowledge as there being anything in the dvd player. Is there something I'm not doing? Is there a better program for creating VCD's ? I've installed VCDEasy, but as of this point I am unaware of how to use it.

If anyone can give me some input it would greatly be appreciated.

is your dvd player vcd compatable?

Ok.....looked it up and my dvd player is listed. Other users have said they've had not too many probs with running their videos in their dvd player.

Is there a difference in the cds that are used? Or is there something I'm missing??

i have heard that not all media will work,but as i use only one brand of media,this is not a problem for me. does your vcd play in WMP?
