  1. I know how to break a movie into 2 parts while im setting it up to convert but this will take a long time becuase im converting it. Is there a way i can get an svcd all set to burn but cut it into 2 pieces without going throught the process of converting it? Basically im just trying to save some time here just wondering if its possible. I use TMPGEnc to do the convertin and stuff. Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks in advance,

I know what you are saying.

I use Tmpgenc and like to have it encode all night and have one BIG file that is completely done.

What I do is take the MPEG-2 file created by Tmpgenc, then go to MPEG tools, then use the split/join feature to cut the file so that they fit on CDs.

After the file is split, I then take the two or three files I created, load them into Nero and do the SVCD burn thing with them.

In using this, I always overlap a couple of seconds, because sometimes, the file gets a little messy in the last second or two.

You can cut the avi with Virtualdub before converting, which is another option.

  7. Why not just select the source range for the first half of the movie and add it to a batch encode list. Then select the remainder of the film and add that task to the batch encode list as well. Click run and you can let it run all night like someone said, only have two files done instead of one. This saves time since you don't have to cut the mpeg file.

  8. Damn dude, you read my mind. I was about to ask if there was a way you can set it up so you can have a list of movies and just have it go down the line to the next one as it finishes. Thats probably what ill do. i guess i just have to get to know the program a little bit better.

    thanks ya

The batch encode system is the most obvious way, but my reading of your first post was you already knew about this!
