i have Divx 5.0.2 and windows media player 7.01. I wanted to convert the The Fast and the Furious, of which i have a DVD rip (divx avi.) when i watched it on the divx player, i watched it on wide aspect (16:9). when i converted it with TMPGEnc, i wanted the VCD i was going to create to be in the same format. So, I put the aspect at 16:9 525 line (NTSC). when i encoded it though, the divx full screen at the wide aspect wasn't the same as the full screen on the mpg. I noticed that the black part at the bottom and top of the screen where nothing is shown like a real wide screen movie got smaller in the mpeg. i used the same ratio, though. How do i fix this? The volume of the audio went lower, too. I have to keep my volume on my speakers higher to listen to the same movie. I thought something was wrong to my speakers and so, I checked it by playing the movie on the same volume but using the mpg and the divx avi. I had to use the speakers at a louder volume when listening on Windows Media Player than with Divx player. The difference is wuite a lot. You can't hear anything on the mpg at the same volume that you can hear perfectly on the Dixv (avi.)

If you want louder audio, extract the uncompressed wav file before encoding with TMPG. Then normalise the wav.
For DivX which already has correct aspect ratio, source aspect ratio should always be 1:1(VGA), and video arrange method should be Full screen (keep aspect ratio) if you want to see all the movie.
