I burned a VCD with Nero and played it on my Panasonic DVD player and it stutters about every second. It plays fine on my computer though. I've burned plenty of VCDs before and all of them have turned out great except for this one. The only thing I did different this time was I used the new version of Nero (5.5.9.0). Could the new version of Nero be causing the stuttering or is it something else?

How about go back to where all of them have turned out great, minor revision from Nero doesn't give you anything more than a few options you probably didn't even know what they are.
Remember the say.. "if it ain't broke, don't fix it"? -
I agree, I don't think Nero is the problem. I have had the same problem myself before and found that when I reburned the second time it worked fine.
Also, once I used TMPG to encode and was doing several other tasks at the same time. I didn't check the MPEG file that was produced but when I burned it, it came out very poorly - NERO still accepted it.
Anyway hope this helps. I just joined the forums about an hour ago.

Is it a standard 1150 kbs?Are sure it's a VCD and not an SVCD? if the bitrate is to high, your DVD player may not be able to handle the higher bitrate.

you will also get this if for example: your source is pal and you choose ntsc template. the "fps" must be the same 8)
