  1. Is it possible to join two *.mpg files together? And if so what is the best program to do this?

After the files have been joined, is it possible to reduce the file size and burn the file in order to have the video on one cd instead of two? I want to create a dvd-playable cd, but I don't want to have to burn it to two cds.

    Any input would be appreciated.

    Thank You.

you can join two mpegs with tmpgenc >file>mpeg tools >merge and cut. then you can re-encode it to fit on one cd,but you will lose some quality

Mpeg-1 maybe. Mpeg-2 is a different animal. Sometimes it works (depending on the editing software) and sometimes it unsyncs the audio and video. I can do it with Video Studio 6 now but I'm awaiting a patch that apparently gets rid of the synchronization errors when cutting and combining. I hope it works...
