  1. I've been using an All-in-Wonder 128 Pro to capture MPEG1 and MPEG2 video at 720x480 I-frame only at 6.55Mbps (prevents dropped frames). The AIW is producing perfectly synched video, but when I try to convert it in TMPGEnc to XVCD format the audio gets out of sync. I'm trying to convert it to TMPGEnc constant-quality, with a min bitrate 0 and max bitrate 2.67Mbps (verified to work on my DVD player), and a 1,5,2 IPB format. The audio is always 44100 at 224Kbps, both capturing and re-encoding. Any ideas what could be causing the sync problem?

(The reason I'm trying to do this conversion is that I've observed a noticeable improvement in image quality when a stream with a high bitrate is captured and can be filtered more intelligently to a more compliant bitrate by software that isn't attempting to provide realtime performance).

  2. I'm also experiencing the same problem. I'm using TMPG to edit MPG1 1.00M/s 352x240 files recorded off an ATI AIW 128 Pro. The recorded file plays fine unedited, but when I edit the file in TMPG, the audio is out of sync with the video. It happens every time. Some times it is less noticeable, but other times is bad. I've scoured the net for solutions, and I've tried separating the audio and video, converting the audio to wav, then stretching the audio to match the length of the video, and then recombining it, but it didn't work. I've read alot about muxing and remuxing, but no one explained the actual procedure. Could someone englighten me on how to solve this problem? Thanks.
