I have premiere installed on a laptop and have the ability to import jpegs. I installed premiere on a DELL deksktop and the import JPEG is missing from the import menu. How is this possible, what should I do in order to get that ability.
Thank you

Thank you very much this indeed solves the problem. Are there any other things I need to install to have extra capabilities in premiere. Maybe you also know what the best format is to save an avi under. At the moment I transfer data from a miniDV camera to permiere, then store it as MPEG4 Codec V2. This however gives horizontal striping for fast moving objects. I think this has to do with the compression format, but I am not sure.
Once again thanks for the solution provided. -
The horizontal lines may be the effects of displaying interlaced video on your computer monitor which is progressive.
If that is not the problem, try converting small segments using various codecs to see if there is an improvement.
I use both the HuffyUV and PICVideo MJPEG to work with AVI files. I try not to compress heavily until I'm ready for the finishing burn.
As far as the best format to save AVI, everyone has their own preferences.
