  1. Hey,

I have Adobe Premiere as my capturing software and I was very disappointed to find that I cannot capture with the time and date stamp showing on the video. I've also tried a couple other programs to see if they were able to do this and weren't able to. Is there a program that can capture my video with the time and date or a way to get the time and date to show up? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Thnx!

if you want to add it later:

you can just overlay a graphic with the date and fixed time in the corner .. make it a transparency and it will look good , you can do that vegas video or just about any editing program i believe .

you can even do that in v-dub with the logo filter plug in ..

as for making a video with the time changing .. well i stamp time code on videos - which is built in to eding programs and you can or just could display it in seconds -- you prob dont want that ...

what i would do is to make a movie with Digital Fusion which can create txt of any sort with either timecode or just time or even true clock .. i would make a small avi or frame seq covering 12 hours and just overlay it on the main film in either Fusion or Avid or you can do it in Vegas or most other editors - just trim it to the area you want .. ..

If you want to stamp it as cap'ng it :

thats built into several hardware solutions and some apps (i think avid dv can do this) most often it is in hardware ..

  4. Thanks.

But I really like to stamp it during the capturing, since I have a lot of short clips in my DV tapes and I don't think I want to spend all those time to create another hundreds of clips to overlap them.

What are the hardwares required for this purpose? Can you explain a little bit more?

  5. Please help anyone...I have the same problem too. I really really want to have my DVDs include a date stamp without me spending hours layering in a title.

I primarily video my 2 young kids and have 100's of "scenes" in an hour of video.

    Thanks for your help,
    Ally

There's gotta be software that should be able to take the date and time info from DV and overlay it the captured video. If not, there's $$$$$ to be made for a smart programmer.
