    I have just dl stuart little 2 full film, plays alright through media player but when I try to encode with TMPGenc it gets to just over 50% and then stops . Anyone have advice

    Did you already post this somewhere else ?

    Your AVI has probable got junk frames, use Vdub

    Vdub > Scan video stream for errors

    Video > direct stream copy
    Audio > Direct stream copy
    SAVE AVI
    Save as Movie2.avi

    If the scan fails use "vdub-mp3-freeze.exe" which makes a log of them at c:\badframes.log which you can use to delete the highest first
