I've got an AIW 8500DV. I'm downloading MMC7.7 now. Supposedly it will capture SVCD compliant files. (What are the EXACT parameters for SVCD anyway?) This should (read might) give me real-time SVCD files. However, I'm still left with files too large to fit on a single CD. My version of TMPGenc won't do MPEG2 and the commercial version costs $50. The free VCD Cutter seems unusable. With DVD burners at $275 and media under $1 I don't want to sink any more money into VCD. How can I put a movie, say 90 minutes, on 2 or 3 SVCD's without spending any additional cash? I've got the latest Nero download. Is there a feature in Nero to allow this I'm missing?

If you load up a standard SVCD template in TMPGenc you will have all the standard defaults for SVCD (bitrate , res etc).
To chop an MPEG file into pieces click on 'File' at the top of the screen, then select 'MPEG tools' and go to the 'Merge & Cut' tab. You can specify ranges there for chopping a file up into smaller sections.
