    ok i have TRV-320 sony camcorder and i get this message C:31:40 when i put a tape on the camcorder it wont close i try lots of different tapes if i take the tape off it will close has anyone ever had this problem? thankx in advance sorry if its the wrong place for this

    i get this message C:31:40 when i put a tape on the camcorder...
    I would first find out what C:31:40 means, before I do anything that could cost me...most users manual have some error code description; that could be a starting point for you.

    i found out what the code is and i follow what it says to do but it still does the same thing by the way heres the codes http://www.bealecorner.com/trv900/docs/faults.jpg

    I have the same camcorder...personnaly it's pretty good for analog but i sure wish it was digital with firewire...but anyways..........

    Are you sure you have the right kind of tapes?

    sorry i just looked at my camcorder today and it is a TRV37 not whatever you said....

    My theory still applies.
