  1. Hi,

I have tried to do the vcds->dvd solution presented at: http://www.vcdhelp.com/vcddvdr.htm , using:
    - tmpgenc (to encode the recording into vcd1, merge all mpegs into one file, de-multiplex, encode the sound)
    - spruceup (to generate the tree), ifoedit (to correct the "size/bitrate" information for all files, as detailled here: http://forum.vcdhelp.com/viewtopic.php?t=90899)
    - nero to burn (as explained at this link: http://www.vcdhelp.com/nerodvd.htm).

With this method, I am able to put 10 episodes of a 43min (without commercial break) TV serie.

Unfortunately it seems that some of the generated VOBs have some problem (while the other play just fine); when being looked at on a stand alone DVD player, the player play a little video/sound then start hanging, restart, hang, restart ... soon it will loose the sound, and the video will continue the play for a sec/stop/play/stop process.
When trying to play the corresponding VOBs on my computer, I seem to see a "broken" vcd (some playing problem [looks like broken mpeg artifact] in the bottom of the video frame). But when I look at the "all-in-one" original mpeg1 (before audio recompression), it appears to have no problem at all ?

Anybody already encountered this issue and/or have a way of fixing it and/or checking the files ?

    No "crossposts" post please.

I have had similiar problems with some downloaded mpegs, have tried to fix them but didnt help so I had to reencode them.

  3. Thanks for the answer.

So there is no way for me to simply try to fix the mpeg to make it work ? (I am glad I kept all the tapes so far)

Still, does anybody havec an idea of why this is occurring ?

PS: Sorry about the corsspost, I did not know if the topic was relevant in this forum or the other one.
