whats the aspect ratio of the downloaded movie?

you should be able to select the source and change the ratio with tmpgenc.

In TMPGENC just load one of the templates, PAL or NTSC VCD

You can go to the settings > Advanced > Clip frame
From there you can experiment, but if you chose "Full screen" (Streached) this will remove the borders, but at the same time you will loose part of the picture. Its better to leave it at "Full screen keep aspect ration" with a wide screen TV you can zoom them out.

  5. Are you trying to say that you want the movie to appear (on your TV) with black borders at the top and bottom i.e in widescreen? If this is the case:

load your original movie (the one you downloaded) into TMPGEnc

    load your template

    click setting

    click the advanced tab

change the 'source aspect ratio' to 1:1 (VGA)

change 'video arrange method' to full screen (keep aspect ratio)

    voila!

I think... You think you can make widescreen movies on a VCD, you can't thats why the borders are there to keep the aspect ratio, and provent the movie from being streched. On a widescreen TV you can zoom and it will look very good.
