I ripped a movie using smart ripper and then i used DVD2Avi so i can get into a format that will allow me to use TMPG. AFter i convert the movie to mpeg format using TMPG, the sound is kind of low. Is there any way to increase the sound in TMPG or DVD2AVI programs. Or do i need a completely differeny program. I know Virtual Dub allows me to increase the sound but will TMPG or DVD2AVi allow me also. Thanks in advanced

What you could do is get a program called headac3he and encode the audio the DVD2AVI gives you to mp2. Then, encode the video (*.d2v) only with TMPGEnc. After the 5 hours or whatever, you can multiplex the audio output from headac3he and the video from TMPGEnc.
Note: headac3he took about 5 minutes to encode the SpyKids audio from AC3 to MP2 on my Athlon XP 1900+ power machine!
