I am wanting to make a backup version of Amelie and I was wonder what I would have to do to get the subtitles on the backup? I am using smart ripper but will use anything that will work.
For all of those who havent seen the movie you must see it. It is one of the best movies I have seen.![]()

It doesn't matter which ripper you use, the subtitle stream(s) is included in the VOBs. You need to use VobSub, VirtualDub or Avisynth to produce permenant subtile. Truman's guide has everything you need to know:

if you are going to make this back up to dvdr then you will need to rip the sibs with subrip, not sure what you are using to convert and re=author, but this guide should get you through everything, and when you get to the subtitles part make sure you use "the hard way" i have done this over 120 times and never had a bad subtitle stream http://www.doom9.org/mpg/ifoedit-cce.htm
