Ok folks. I have decided this combo would be the best for me, however I now have the audio sync problem so many others have described with Virtualdub and other problems. My issue, however, it a complete opposite. Virtualdub, PowerVCR, ATI MMC all sync fine. I grabbed the latest WDM capture drivers from ATI. I have tried all the different Sync settings in VirtualVCR, as well as setting the framerate to 29.974 (for NTSC, rather than 30 FPS). I still get drift, to about 2 seconds over an hour's period. Running a DEMUX, MUX on the resulting AVI/MPG file has not solved this problem.
Is there something funny about using Direct show now, as compared with VFW with this particular card? Seems to me that MMC uses directshow, and I don't have any problems there...
Any help is appreciated, thanks!
