avi to mpg 1

right i got 4 movies and each movie is an avi file of around 900 mb my question is how can i convert them to mpg 1 so i can put the 4 movies on to 1 dvdr ive been tyring now for a week been looking thru the conversion page but cant find what im looking for it seems they speak about avi vcds any help just a newbie,ive managed to convert them to mpg 2 but i only get 2 movies on 1 dvdr

Use TMPGEnc to convert avi to mpg1. But I doubt if it will give you enough compression to rival that of mpg2.

im using tmpgenc but cant seem to get it to mpg 1 just mpg 2 the only way i can get it to mpg 1 is to convert it to vcd then i will have to join them together again then i would have to convert the audio

Have you tried to load the templates before encoding?
