  1. Hi, I just burned a .mpg file to VCD & when I put the disc in my DVD Player the picture is perfect but I can't get any sound. I have a Panasonic DVD-RV32 Player. I burnt vcds before & they work fine in my DVD player but the last few vcds that I burned did not have any sound. Is there anyway to fix this?

By the way, the mpg plays fine on my computer, it has sound and a picture. I encoded the movie using TMPGEnc.

  2. Are you using the exact same procedure and materials as you have previously (exact same procedures, exact same media, exact same everything)? If not, what has changed?
As Churchill famously predicted when Chamberlain returned from Munich proclaiming peace in his time: "You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You chose dishonor, and you will have war."

  3. Yes, I have been using the exact same procedures. Like I said the video works fine on my computer but when I put it in my dvd player I can't get sound. I am using the same cd-r's that I have always used too.

  4. Perhaps the audio in these VCD's is in MP3 format...try to use PCM sound.
It depends on the original MPEG...and teh person who created it... one can use mp3 audio to save space...but normally won't play very well on standalone dvd players.

  5. I tried to use PCM sound but it didn't work. Is there anyway to change the audio from mp3 format to something else?

  6. yes there is...

    demux with TMPGenc (MPEG TOOLS)

select the audiotrack, select audio only mpeg I layer 2 and hit encode.

then with mpeg tools mux the video back together with the created .mp2 file.

for precise operation...read one of the tmpg guides...in the guide to put mpeg1 vcd on dvd reencoding of audio only is explained in detail.

    good luck.
