  1. I was wondering if its possible to convert a music video i made which is in divx avi, and has a 320 x 240 resolution to a format which can be played on a dvd player. I've tried using TMPGenc to convert it to a a mpeg 1 vcd but when i put it in my dvd player it said there was a disk error. ( my dvd player can play vcd's) Does the audio have to be in a certain format because in the music video its a mp3 file? Maybe wav? Does the resoluton make it not work? Well i dont know. Thanks

  2. Read the how to convert divx to VCD guide on this site (if the audio is compressed it has to be extracted to a wav file). You say your player can play VCD's but can it play CDR's

When you use TMPGEnc, "load" a VCD template, there are 2 one for PAL and one for NTSC. This will set the output .mpg to the correct compliant settings. It does not matter if your source has a MP3, TMPGEnc will convert video and audio to the correct spec

The quality of the disk is also important, if you don't know what your player can play yet, you need to experiment.

  4. If the source audio is a vbr mp3 there may be sync problems if you dont save it as a wav file first.

  6. An easy way to make shure your dvd player can read vcds is by writing your video with nero express (www.nero.com for demo). It will automaticly encode the video at the required resolution, but it only works if your file is a .avi or a .mpg. If it still doesn't work after you write it's probably that your dvd-r doesn't read vcds.

  7. VCD for ntsc has a set resolution of 352x240, so if you are loading a vcd template it will be resized to this resolution.
