divx to mpeg TMPGenc

i am trying to re-encode a divx file to mpeg 1 with TMPGenc but when i conert it the picture is fine but there is no sound what am i doing wrong or is there a better encoding program for the job.

First make sure you have the Audio codec, install the Nimo codec pack, it has most.

Next in TMPGENc
Select options > environmental settings
click the VFAPI plug-in tab
right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

If that's no help, when you load it into Vdub, select File > File information what does it tell you about the audio ?

You may need to save out the audio to be used later with TMPGEnc

cheers sorted it now just had to decompress the audio in v-dub

watch out though had to build the whole file in tmpeng then cut into the desired sizes to avoid audio miss sync
