  1. i am trying to re-encode a divx file to mpeg 1 with TMPGenc but when i conert it the picture is fine but there is no sound what am i doing wrong or is there a better encoding program for the job.

    First make sure you have the Audio codec, install the Nimo codec pack, it has most.

    Next in TMPGENc
    Select options > environmental settings
    click the VFAPI plug-in tab
    right click the "DirectShow" and select higher priority, do this several times until its at the top with a value of 4

    If that's no help, when you load it into Vdub, select File > File information what does it tell you about the audio ?

    You may need to save out the audio to be used later with TMPGEnc

    You may also need Vdub AC3

  4. cheers sorted it now just had to decompress the audio in v-dub

  5. watch out though had to build the whole file in tmpeng then cut into the desired sizes to avoid audio miss sync
