    Yes, but words have more than just a single meaning, and, as in this case, there are nuances. I was using it in the sense of parallelism. As I stated before, the US has an (arguably) inferior video system, and a superior GPS system, whereas we have an (arguably) superior video system but an inferior (aka non-existent) GPS system. There is the parallelism, or analogy.

    BTW, the discussion on semantics is even more irrelevant to this thread than the one which arose because of the mention of GPS! IMO, of course.

    The title of this thread should be changed to "How to improve/edit the quality of your English" 8)

    Yeh, you are right!

    Meanwhile, let me remind you that also the word "parallelism" is a hellenic (greek) one and comes form the word "parallilismo's". The use and the meaning of the word is exactly the same in Greek and English language.
    As you in US said: 'Greeks have a word for it"



    Let me also ask you a thing: Before Star Trek Voyager, Americans used the word "irrelevant" so much? I always had that question....
