hi i was wondering if any of you guys have encountered this before. when i rip and convert selected chapters from this DVD (Serial Experiments Lain #4, Region 4), the resulting .mpg file is only about half of the video i wanted to convert.
one irregularity that i noticed was that the .mpv file generated by CCE is messed up, the running time is read as 57 minutes eventhough the video is only 23 minutes long. also, the file size of the .mpv file is larger than the settings i chose on the Bitrate tab; it's 800Mb. i set my Bitrate settings so that the video would only fill 396Mb, half a CD-R. i want to fit 2 episodes on one CD. i think because the .mpv was 800Mb, bbMPEG could only manage half the video before hitting the file size limit.
i selected different chapters from the same DVD and converted another episode (of similar length) and the .mpg turned out fine. i noticed the .mpv file this time was 23 minutes (correct length) and about 400Mb in size.
any ideas what went wrong with the first video? i could really use the help. for some cursed reason, i've been having a horrible experience ripping this DVD series (see previous post about audio problems).
