after weeks of try to rempeg using rempeg2 without it crashing, i give up and used tmpgenc which worked, except when i remuxed it was out off sync, is there a way i can correct this problem?

I assume u r thrying to shrink the size to fit on a dvd-r. Rempeg id the best thing to do this with. If u r rusing XP pro try ending all non essential processes b4 u use repmeg as i had a similar problem and it worked fine after that. It's uses alot of system resources. As for correcting the outta sync problem see how much it is out of sync and try using the source range in tmpgenc and minus or puls the audio to what u think it is out by. But rempeg is best for making dvd9 to dvd5. Hope i helped.
