hi!
I have a problem in making a smooth NTSC video..when i tried to convert to NTSC format, when i play the vcd which is in ntsc format in my televison, it will have a slight flicker, then this make the video not smooth. The quality of the video is clear and no out of sync. I convert using the Tmpegnc using the NTSC vcd template. Then if i convert the capture avi to mpg pal format using the tmpgenc pal vcd template, then burn using nero 5.5, there is no flickering at all, very smooth, but when pal format vcd played in my vcd player, it will not be as clear as the ntsc. Right now i am hoping to be able to play my capture video in my vcd player with the ntsc format since it can have just clear quality of the video. Only that the colour of the video is not as good as the pal, it is a bit "dull" in colour when compare with the pal format vcd. I thought that the ntsc format vcd will have slight flicker when shown on the tv, is because that when i capture using the virtual dub, the frame rate i put 25kps instead of 29.97kps..and the 25kps is for pal and not ntsc. But when i tried to capture in 29.97kps, there will be many dropped frames and there will be audio out of sync, therefore i capture in 25kps. When i played those commercial vcds, the vcds is in ntsc format, there are no flicker at all, very clear..!! but when i play my own capture video in ntsc format, it flicker. Actually i don't really know whether i should say it as flickering, i just cannot find a word to say it, when the ntsc format vcd played in vcd player, the video actually have a slight "move", or "tweak"? then make the video not smooth. The ntsc format video when play in my computer, there is not flicker at all, very smooth, but when shown in tv, it flicker.

I am currently using pentium 4 2.0ghz,
256mb 266mhz ddr-ram,
geforce2 mx400 64mb ddr-AGP...

so can anyone help me??? i really hope to capture a very smooth and clear video in ntsc format with no flicker at all..! what i think is everythiing is good, beside the colour and flicker of it when play in vcd player, then shown on my tv, but it works fine in my computer though, everything is fine..~
Really waiting to get any helpful ones here to help me!! thanks!!
