    Is it possible to convert a MPEG-2 movie over using TMPenc, into a XVCD or similar format for playback on a component DVD player? (SONY DVP-NS315)

    Yes, just encode the vob using the exact same resolution and bitrate as the dvd. And you will have a DVD quality x(s)vcd.

    Load the Mpeg 2 into TMPGENc, then load a VCD template (PAL/NTSC)
