Im starting off saying thanks for your time and helping me out. I just started about 2 weeks ago downloading avi movies to convert to vcd to play on my Standalone DVD player--SONY DVD by the way. I have tried 3 conversion programs with no avail!!!!!!!

#1--Roxio EZCD Plat.5 Video Conversion---I get blockiness and I lose video sync while watching movie or slow-motion type effect on video.

#2--avi2vcd---Bad lip sync and a slow-motion type effect and also 8 hours to convert 1 hr of movie.

#3--TMPGEnc.12i---For one I cant get a Video Preview-no sound or video---Two--When I do convert and try on my DVD player I have no Video.

This has been EXTREMELY annoying. I have several movies and cannot get them converted properly!!! All avi files.

I have a Sony Vaio computer 1 Gig Clock Speed--384 RAM--and also I have a DVD installed in my computer(dont know if that matters)

I have tried all types of settings with no avail.

If someone could please help it would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!! Thanks again!!!!!!!

  2. Have you tried using Sefy's templates? Also, you may want to check the compatability of different disks (CD-R, CD-RW, brands) in your player.

  3. Try going to http://www.intervideo.com/jsp/Home.jsp and download the WinDVD 3.0 demo. If you’re trying to watch you video on your computer, it sometimes requires a specific program. Now, if it plays well on your computer, then the possibility of your standalone being compatible might be the problem. Also go to http://www.vcdhelp.com/dvdplayers.php and search for your specific standalone and search what VCDHELP has to say. Good Luck.
