  1. Hello, i am very new to all this, i have tried burning with nero, version 5.5.9.. it has taken me twice over 14 hours to encode so it says at the the top, in the end at 82% encode i gave up, and stopped it.
am i doing something wrong, i did not expect to spend that length of time to encode , and after encoding does it burn the film, or it that the whole process.

thanking you all in advance for any help

  2. Dont use nero to encode anything. There are a lot of free encoders
on the net that give you great results use one of them to encode your movie first and nero to only burn it at the end.

pop over to doom9.net he has all the software you need and some
easy to use guides on how to make your movies.

You need only 2 basic programs

    1, Vdub
    http://www.virtualdub.org/

    2, TMPGEnc
    http://www.tmpgenc.net/

Vdub can be used to edit your AVI's, it can also be used to remove junk frames, and save out the audio if needed.

You then use TMPGEnc to convert the AVI to a Mpeg 1 (Load VCD template) PAL or NTSC

Now you can use the .mpg with Nero VCD
