Just last week, my computer started to become "buggy."
After many series of tests and installations of windows, I narrowed the problem down to my RAM. I'm currently running two 512MB sticks of crucial PC133 RAM. For some reason or another, my RAM decided to stop working at 133 Mhz.
I'm guessing that I may have burnt something out, when I overclocked my CPU. I don't know why it suddenly happened, though. I've been running my 1.1 Ghz chip at 1.166 Ghz with no problems, for about a year.
Any ideas what's wrong? Is it possible to ruin RAM by overclocking?
Edit:
I found the problem. I bought the second stick of RAM, after I did my last install. For some reason, Windows 2000 does not like to install properly, with more than 512MB of RAM.
I removed both sticks, cleaned them with alcohol and replaced only one. Then, I proceeded to install Windows 2000, and all of my basic drivers. This time, it was smooth sailing. After installing the critical drivers, I shutdown and replaced the second stick of RAM. I reset the BIOS and booted up.
So far, my computer is running as stable as ever, despite overclocking.
