I am a DVD newbie .. before i embark on my journey to purchase a DVD writer
can someone tell me what is the "normal" time take to write data to a blank disc ??
Try StreamFab Downloader and download from Netflix, Amazon, Youtube! Or Try DVDFab and copy Blu-rays! or rip iTunes movies!

At 1x it takes about an hour.
The newer 2x drives, with 2x media bring that down to half an hour.
As drives (and more imprtantly) reliable blanks get faster, the times will come down proportionally.
