  1. I just burned my first SVCD using the dvd2svcd method, but when I watched it, I noticed that occasionally at a part that has lots of motion, that there is some pixelization, and you can see it, even if you go into slow mo. My question is is it possible to make an svcd that comes out with no pixelization. I mean, I thought that it was supposed to have none because I kept hearing that it is so much better than vcd. I heard that the quality is excellent. What is the deal? If someone can tell me how to encode it better or do anything better for better quality, I would appreciate it. By the way, when I used dvd2svcd, I used basically all the default settings that the tutorial told me to. Thanks for the help guys.

How many minutes SVCD did you get per disc? It's quite possible to get SVCD near DVD quality, but it's also possible to get inferior results. If you try to skimp on the number of discs you use you can get less than perfect results.

  3. It is definately possible to have an SVCD as good as a dvd original. However, it might take 12 cdr's to do it.

50 minutes per CD can give astonishingly good quality, which many will hardly be able to tell from DVD (apart from the multi-channel sound). Of course, if someone has just splashed out on a DVD writer, it's probably the last thing they want to believe. And on the same track, it is surprising how many people talk disparagingly of DivX, which is also capable of stunning quality, and Dolby Digital sound. 8)

  6. I had used 2 cd's to make the svcd from, but that was the recommended amount from the dvd2svcd manual. Also, when I burned those cd's, and played them on my dvd player, (which is svcd compatible) the picture came out stuttery, and the sound was extremely deep and slow. It was all off. Anyone know what I did wrong here?? All I did was follow the instructions to the DVD2SVCD to a T. Any Help would be great. I ripped Shrek again last night, and did just a regular vcd burn, and it came out like 10 times better than the svcd, now I now that isn't right. It is supposed to be the other way around. Thanks for any help. I want to try to get the best possible results.

I don't use DVD2SVCD so I don't know what the problem might be. However, those who do say it can also give outstanding results.
