    How does one simply convert a quicktime clip to a mpeg or Avi clip.

    To convert MOV files to MPG, follow the instructions listed here: http://www.vcdhelp.com/tmpgenc.htm

    Remember to download the QTReader.vfp file and copy it to the TMPGEnc Folder. You can download the QTReader.vfp file here: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/4942/svcd.html

    That site also has a program called mov2avi, which is supposed to convert MOV files to AVI. I haven't tried it out, though.
