I'm wondering if it is possible to have a 2nd audio track that you can switch on before watching a movie. I want to do director commentary kind of stuff. Is it possible?

Svcds support 2 stereo audio tracks or 4 mono ones.
You can create two audio tracks, say the main audio and the director's commentary track, and multiplex both in with your audio. You can use the multiplex option (not simple multiplex) in TMPGenc's mpeg tools, bbmpeg, or I-Author to do this.
You will then be able to toggle between the two audio tracks during playback by hitting the audio button.
